Dedicated to the Gaelic Language of the Isle of Man

Scoill Souree 2024 - Manx Gaelic Summer School for adults (16+)

We are delighted to announce three Manx Gaelic short courses in July 2024, as part of Scoill Souree - Culture Vannin's summer school for adults (16+). We ran our summer school for the first time last year - here's what some of the students had to say:

"One of the most effective language courses ever, and brilliant to coincide with Yn Chruinnaght – made for a delightful, relaxing & interesting week."

"You were super engaging and the whole course was really well designed. A masterclass in Manx teaching!"

Taking place between Monday 22nd – Friday 26th July, in the Isle of Man, Culture Vannin's summer school has been organised to coincide with the brilliant Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Gathering festival, which takes place in the seaside town of Peel.

The festival hosts a myriad of varied events showcasing music, dance, language, arts and crafts, lectures and more. Classes for the Manx language summer school will be delivered by qualified teachers, Ruth Keggin Gell and Paul Rogers, and will be engaging, varied and interactive. You can choose from a morning or afternoon slot, and there are two levels available – click on the links below for further information and course descriptors.

Each course costs £100 per person. Limited places are available, so advance booking is essential:

Gaelg Keim 1 – Manx Level 1 (ideal for complete beginners): 9.30am - 12.30pm (teacher: Ruth Keggin Gell) OR 2pm - 5pm (teacher: Paul Rogers)

Gaelg Keim 2 – Manx Level 2 - 9.30am - 12.30pm (teacher: Paul Rogers)
