Dedicated to the Gaelic Language of the Isle of Man

Scoill Souree 2025: Manx Gaelic Summer School is BACK!

We're delighted to announce FIVE Manx Gaelic short courses in July 2025, as part of Scoill Souree - Culture Vannin's summer school for adults (16+). This will be our third year of running Scoill Souree - here's what some former students had to say:

"One of the most effective language courses ever, and brilliant to coincide with Yn Chruinnaght – made for a delightful, relaxing & interesting week."

"You were super engaging and the whole course was really well designed. A masterclass in Manx teaching!"

Taking place between Monday 21st – Friday 25th July, in the Isle of Man, Culture Vannin's summer school is organised to coincide with the brilliant Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Gathering festival, which takes place in the seaside town of Peel. The summer school classes will be in Peel, or St. John's; further information can be found below. You can BOOK YOUR PLACE HERE.

Yn Chruinnaght Celtic Gathering hosts a myriad of varied events showcasing music, dance, language, lectures and more. Classes for the Manx language summer school will be delivered by qualified teachers, Ruth Keggin Gell, Paul Rogers, and Jamys O'Meara and will be engaging, varied and interactive. You can choose from a morning or afternoon slot, and there will be five courses available over three levels – click on the links below for further information and course descriptors.

Each course costs £125 per person; this includes tuition, learning materials, and light refreshments in breaks. Each course participant will also receive a certificate on completion of the course. Limited places are available, so advance booking is essential!
