Eamon O Cuiv opens Culture Vannin's Cultural Centre

Éamon Ó Cuív, TD and Opposition Spokesperson for Regional Development, Rural Affairs and the Gaeltacht in Dáil Éireann opened the Culture Vannin Culture Centre on Tynwald Day this year in conjunction with Tynwald President Steve Rodan. Éamon. Mr. Ó Cuív spoke of the importance of maintaining and promoting the language as part of a nation’s cultural identity. His visit coincided with the seventieth anniversary of the visit of his grandfather, Éamon de Valera to the Island which resulted in the Irish Folklore Commission’s recordings of native speakers of Manx.
