Manx language links

Bunscoill Ghaelgagh: Manx medium primary school run by the Department of Education, Sport & Culture, with support from Mooinjer Veggey. 

Culture Vannin: a charitable organisation that supports and promotes Manx culture, including the Manx language. It is also responsible for the Gaelic Broadcasting Committee and Coonceil ny Gaelgey - the Manx Language Advisory Council. Culture Vannin is the trading name for the Manx Heritage Foundation, registered charity number 333 in the Isle of Man.

Department of Education, Sport and Culture's Education Improvement Service (DESC EIS): the primary role of DESC EIS is to support and develop learning in the Island’s schools and University College Isle of Man.

Department of Education, Sport and Culture's  Manx Language Unit (DESC MLU): peripatetic Manx language primary and secondary provision, including GCSE (TCG) and A-level (Ard-Teisht) examinations.

Manx National Heritage (MNH): The Island’s statutory heritage agency, which manages a significant proportion of the Island’s physical heritage and holds land, property, archives, artwork, library and museum collections in trust for the nation. Its collections include our earliest written manuscripts in Manx as well as rare sound recordings of some of the last native Manx speakers.

Mooinjer Veggey: Educational charity offering pre-school and nursery education with Manx.

Pobble: A registered charity, in the voluntary sector, who focus on the promotion of Manx as a community resource. They arrange events that increase the use of Manx being spoken and heard in the community.

Possan Ronsee Gaelgagh - Manx Language Research Group: This new body was established in 2022 under the auspices of Yn Cheshaght Ghailckagh (the Manx Language Society) to promote research on Manx and to increase both public and academic engagement with the language. The group also oversees the Manx Corpus, a volunteer-led project to create a fully searchable, bilingual online repository of Manx texts dating from the 17th century to the present day. 

Tantaran Ramsey Manx Group: Informal lessons and conversation groups voluntarily led by Manx speaker Paul Salmon. 

Yn Cheshaght Ghailckagh (The Manx Language Society): A registered charity, Yn Cheshaght Ghailckagh was established in 1899 and is dedicated to the promotion of Manx Gaelic. They are also the largest publisher of Manx Gaelic books.
