1000 Words

Welcome to the 1000 words in Manx challlenge which was an integral part of the Island of Culture celebrations in 2014. 

Those who took up the challenge received five short lessons a week with 4-5 new words. Each new word is marked in blue and a running total of words learnt during the challenge was kept.

We hoped to learn 1000 words of Manx during the year. It was quite a challenge but for those that want to learn Manx it provided a really great introduction to the language; moreover, it continues to be a way in which you can learn much more about the Island and our unique culture and identity.
