We'll start this lesson with some more information about myself using the Manx we learned in the last lesson.

Ta mee goll dys obbyr ec lieh-oor lurg nuy, I go to work at half-past nine. Ta mee goll dy-valley ec kerroo dys shey, I go home at a quarter to six, as ta mee goaill jinnair mysh lieh-oor lurg shey, I get dinner about half-past six. Ta mee goll dy lhie ec lieh-oor lurg nane-jeig, I go to bed at half-past eleven. Let's hear that again.
We could also say Ta mee cliaghtey girree ec kerroo dys hoght. Ta mee cliaghtey, I'm accustomed to, or I usually, Ta mee cliaghtey [ta mee cliaghtey] ---------- ta mee cliaghtey. Ta mee cliaghtey girree ec kerroo gys hoght.
Ta Juan cliaghtey goll dys obbyr mysh nuy er y chlag, Juan usually goes to work about nine o'clock. Ta Juan cliaghtey goll dys obbyr mysh nuy er y chlag.
T'ou cliaghtey goaill jinnair ec munlaa. You usually have dinner at midday. T'ou cliaghtey goaill jinnair ec munlaa. Cre'n traa t'ou cliaghtey goll dy lhie?
Ta mee cliaghtey goll dy lhie mysh mean-oie.
We've mentioned various times between the hours – kerroo lurg, feed minnid lurg, lieh-oor lurg, queig as feed dys, jeih dys, and so on. Instead of being so specific, and instead of saying mysh – mysh kerroo dys tree – we could say eddyr, between, eddyr [eddyr] ---------- eddyr: eddyr tree as kiare, between three and four, eddyr tree as kiare.
Eddyr nane-jeig as daa-yeig, between eleven and twelve, eddyr nane-jeig as daa-yeig.
Ta mee goll dy lhie eddyr nane-jeig as daa-yeig. Cre'n traa t'ou goll dys obbyr?
Ta mee goll dys obbyr eddyr hoght as nuy er y chlag.
Goaill anjeeal is having breakfast and goaill jinnair is having dinner. Another possibility, particularly in the middle of the day, is goaill kirbyl, having lunch, goaill kirbyl [goaill kirbyl] ---------- goaill kirbyl.
Ta mee cliaghtey goaill kirbyl eddyr munlaa as nane er y chlag. I usually take lunch between midday and one o'clock. Ta mee cliaghtey goaill kirbyl eddyr munlaa as nane er y chlag.
Cre'n traa ta Juan goaill kirbyl?
Ta Juan cliaghtey goaill kirbyl mysh lieh lurg nane.
And now we can find out more about Juan and Mary, Jonee and Tom, as well as about various family members. At least, we can, if people know the information we're asking for. What if they don't? They may reply, Cha nel mee shickyr, I'm not sure, Cha nel mee shickyr [Cha nel mee shickyr] ---------- Cha nel mee shickyr, or they may say, Cha s'aym, I don't know, cha s'aym [cha s'aym] ---------- cha s'aym.

For most of us, girree, getting up, and goaill anjeeal, having breakfast, are things we do in the morning, and the Manx for that is 'Sy voghrey means in the morning, 'sy voghrey ['sy voghrey] ---------- 'sy voghrey.
We can also say 'Syn astyr, in the afternoon, 'syn 'astyr ['syn 'astyr] ---------- 'syn 'astyr.
Chris, insh dou, cre'n traa ta Tom goll dys obbyr 'sy voghrey?
T'eh cliaghtey goll dys obbyr ec nuy er y chlag 'sy voghrey. T'eh gobbraghey ayns Doolish. Cre'n traa ta Jonee goll dy valley 'syn 'astyr?
T'ee goll dy valley mysh shey as t'eh cliaghtey goaill y jinnair eck eddyr lieh-oor lurg shey as kerroo lurg shiaght. I asked Chris to tell me what time Tom goes to work in the morning: cre'n traa ta Tom goll dys obbyr 'sy voghrey? She replied:
T'eh cliaghtey goll dys obbyr ec nuy er y chlag 'sy voghrey. T'eh gobbraghey ayns Doolish.
He usually goes to work at nine o'clock in the morning. T'eh cliaghtey goll dys obbyr ec nuy er y chlag 'sy voghrey. And she told me that he works in Douglas, t'eh gobbraghey ayns Doolish. Then she asked:
Cre'n traa ta Jonee goll dy valley 'syn 'astyr?
What time does Jonee go home in the afternoon? And I told her, t'ee goll dy valley mysh shey, she goes home about six, t'ee goll dy valley ec shey, as t'ee cliaghtey goaill y jinnair eck, and she usually has the dinner at her, she usually has her dinner, t'ee cliaghtey goaill y jinnair eck eddyr lieh-oor lurg shey as kerroo lurg shiaght, between half-past six and a quarter-past seven, eddyr lieh-oor lurg shey as kerroo lurg shiaght
